• The Devon Conservation Forum - believe the congestion problems need addressing, but raise concerns that more emphasis needs to be placed on the social and environmental needs of Kingskerswell inhabitants.

• Devon Wildlife Trust - prefer that upgrades are made to the existing road and raise concerns over the impacts on local wildlife, namely deer, badgers, birds, bats, dormice, otters, hydrology and ecology.

  Note: In particular they highlight that the proposed scheme runs through no less than four listed County Wildlife sites. These are: SX 86/73 Aller Bridge, SX86/92 Yannon Lane fields, SX86/65 Kerswell Down and in particular the destruction of SX 86/68 at Edginswell Farm.
  One site is classed as a potential site until it can be properly surveyed.

• English Heritage - call for a "detailed archaeological assessment and areas where there are significant archaeological remains should be avoided."

• English Nature - Devon Team, highlight two sites of particular concern, firstly Edginswell Farm Country Wildlife Site "a particularly valuable wetland site", and secondly Kerswell Down Country Wildlife Site which is "particularly valuable in terms of its limestone grassland".

• The Environment Agency - raise a total of fourteen concerns, including: effects on existing watercourses, the destruction and degradation of Country Wildlife sites and the effects of major civil engineering works on the physical aspects of aquifers and ground water resources.

• The Kingskerswell & District Conservation Society
  has strong reservations regarding the proposals to cut further into the Karst limestone in the vicinity of Maddacombe Road. They also highlight the belief that this scheme appears to be of more benefit to Torbay than the residents of Kingskerswell.

• The Royal Society for the Protection of Birds - stated that they are likely to object on the grounds of the schemes adverse effects.

• The Ramblers Association - Devon Area
  have registered concerns over the likely impacts on the network of local footpaths and lanes used by local walkers.

• Torbay & South Devon Friends of the Earth
  advocate that insted of destroying Kingskerswell village and adjoining green field sites, that road improvements are made to St. Marychurch Road, linking into Riviera Way. They also promote a greater use of the railway and provision of a park and ride scheme from Penn Inn into Torbay.

• The Woodland Trust, who are concerned about the impact on one of their sites at Snakey Copse (OS: SX 874 675 near Kerswell Down) and that public enjoyment of these woodlands will be "severely curtailed".
