Who are the Kingkerswell Alliance?

The Kingkerswell Alliance is made up of a group of concerned local people, centering around the village of Kingkerswell, but acting as a focal point for any resident that wishes to support us in our campaign.

We are also allied to both local and national bodies who share our concerns about national and local authority transport policy and its effect on the environment and quality of life.

What do we stand for?

We want a sustainable, workable, environmentally friendly solution to the traffic problems on the A380 corridor between the Penn Inn Roundabout at Newton Abbot and the junction with Hamelin Way at the Kerswell Gardens Roundabout.

We do not believe that the proposed Torbay Link Road (aka The Kingskerswell Bypass) is the correct way to tackle the problem. We believe that this proposed development is used by the local authorities as an excuse not to implement a series of much cheaper improvements right now, which would improve the quality of life of local people with minimum impact on the environment.

We believe that when the local people are made aware of the real reasons for the construction of this road, and are given the opportunity to register their protest, we will carry the majority vote and will be able to change local authority policy.
